Varbnitsa is a village in West Bulgaria. It is located in Godech municipality, Sofia region.

It is 4 km south of the town of Godech and 49 km northwest of Sofia city.

It is located on altitude of about 693 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by cold winter and warm summer.

The permanent population is about 14 people.

The nearest school and medical centers are in the municipality - the town of Godech.

Tourism and landmarks

There are different options for tourism that are created by the proximity to the town of Godech, where are gathered many monasteries. Among them is the distinguished Bukorovski monastery "St Georgi Pobedonosts". It is unique for the fact that in it there are five churches, one of which is working. In front of it there are old crosses on which are written the names of saints. Here was found and the oldest calendar in Europe. It is in the shape of turtle and today is kept in museum.
Also the Razboishki monastery "Vavedenie Bogorodichno" is hidden in the rocks that surround the defile of Nishava river.
