Vishovgrad is a village situated in Pavlikeni Municipality, Veliko Tarnovo region.

The village is 30 km north-west from town of Veliko Tarnovo, 10 km south from town of Pavlikeni, 6 km south from town of Byala cherkva and 220 km north-east from city of Sofia.

Its population is approximately 350 people.

Vishovgrad spreads out the Danube plain, in close proximity to the front Balkan Mountains. It is on 250 m above sea level.

The climate characterizes with warm, dry summer and cold, long winter.

The village is provided with electricity and water. It comprises shops, cafes, inns and a church. The nearest school and kindergarten are located in town of Byala cherkva.

Regular transportation to the neighbouring villages.

Landmarks and tourism

The Ethnographic collection of the village is kept in the community centre. The exposition is separated in three sections - 'Enlightenment and culture', 'Customs of the people' and 'Agriculture'. The exposition represents the style of living of the Bulgarians.

'Dalboki dol' area ('Deep ravine' in English) - the place was a battle field between the Turks and the rebel group of Stefan Karadzha and Hadzhi Dimitar in 1868.

The Emenski canyon at Negovanka River is a splendid natural place of interest with many waterfalls and a cave. It is located in village of Emen, just 10 km away of Vishovgrad. The first eco-path was made here.

Alexander Stamboliyski Dam is set about 20 km away from the village. This is a perfect place for fishing.

The fair of Vishovgrad takes place every year on 2 August.
