Branishte is a village in north-eastern Bulgaria, part of Dobrichka municipality, Dobrich region. It is located 3 km away from the regional town of Dobrich, 28 km away from the sea-coast and 40 km away from the city of Varna.

The population numbers to 411 people. Altitude - 270 m. The relief is flat. Typical for the area is the temperate-continental climate with distinct four seasons. In Old-Bulgarian language the name of the village "branishte" means "a reserve", "a protected area".

In the village there is a mayor's office, a kindergarten, a community center with a library, an Orthodox church, grocery shops, a cafe, a pub, a petrol station, a small park, an enterprise constructed with SAPARD funds for research, processing and export of honey.
The infrastructure is excellent - Branishte is situated on the main Dobrich-Albena main road, which is in a very good condition. Regular electricity and water-supply are provided. All modern communications are available - satelite TV, internet, coverage of all mobile operators. The proximity to the town of Dobrich /just a 5 minute drive away/ provides all comforts and services of the modern life - access to qualified medical services, public and cultural institutions.

In spite of being so close to a big town the nature of Branishte is preserved and ecologically clean. The village is peaceful and quiet and many people from Dobrich are visiting it during the weekends to enjoy the serenity of country life. The locals are engaged into the production of grain, fruits and vegetables, bee-keeping and stock-breeding. Many of them are commuting to the town of Dobrich. The village offers favourable conditions for the development of rural, cultural and eco-tourism.
