Bohot is village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Pleven municipality, Pleven region

It is 17 km southeast of the town of Pleven and 180 km northeast of the capital Sofia. The village of Brestovets is 9 km northwest. 

It located in valley area and its altitude is 321 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by hot and dry summer while the winter is cold. There is lots of precipitation during the months June and February. There often fall hails. 

In the village are constructed water and electricity systems. Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. 

The permanent population is about 778 people. 

Here are functioning primary school, community center, rest house, stores and restaurants. One GP and one dentist take care for the people in the village. The nearest kindergarten and hospital are situated in the town of Pleven where you also get specialized medical assistance. 

Tourism and landmarks

According to the legend a group of haiduks were banished in Bohotskata forest where there settled. Their chieftain proposed to name the village after the sound they hear first. And at this moment an owl started to owl "Booo - Hooo - Hooo" and so they named to village Bohot. 

Near the village there is small airport where there are organized air shows.  

The protected area Kaylaka is located next to the town of Pleven and is suburban park. In it there are many walks, alleys, many places for relaxation, restaurants, coffee houses, pools, not finished yet motorway etc. It encompasses the areas of Bohotskata forest and Srebrostrui cottage. The part near the village offers conditions for hunting and mushrooms collecting. 

In the town of Pleven the tourists will see one of the most popular landmarks in the country - Pleven Epopee 1877, Wine museum, Skobelev park and the house-museum Tsar Osvoboditel Aleksander II. 

Interesting natural landmarks that you can go on an excursion are the canyon of Chernelka river (16 km), Kapchuka cave (11 km) and Devetashkata cave (18 km).

The people that enjoy fishing could take advantage of the conditions near Kaylaka dam (6 km) and it is stocked with fish. There are also organized regattas.
