Borinovo is a village in South Bulgaria. It is situated in Madan municipality, Smolyan region.
It is about 4 km south of the town of Madan, 34 km east of the town of Smolyan, 18 km in the same direction from the town of Rudozem, 271 km southeast of the capital Sofia.
The village is connected to the town of Madan with regular bus transportation.
Its altitude is about 190 people.
The village is with town hall, community center, stores and restaurant. It is with electricity and water systems. There is cable TV, Internet and coverage of the mobile operators. The nearest kindergarten, school and hospital are on the territory of the town of Madan.
In the area of the town of Madan you can visit the following natural landmarks:
- cave museum Sharenka - this is the first of its kind in Bulgaria such cave museum.
- Gabata area - rock formation with small cave in which are found particles of ceramics from different ages. When following the path on the rock you go to Thracian mine in which were found primitive tools for the extraction of ore and clay lamps.
- in proximity is Rimpapa rock that 50 m high that looks like man with mantle. Behind it there are remains of old settlement in which were found tracks of clay water sewerage.
- Kichikaya area is Proto-Bulgarian fortress that is later conquered by the Romans. There are old stone walls from buildings and fortress wall. Preserved is also the well dug about 9 m low in the rock.
In the town of Smolyan the people can see History museum Smolyan, Planetarium of Smolyan, Rhodope Drama Theatre, "St. Vissarion "Monument of Orpheus and Eurydice; Rozhen Observatory.
