Bogdanovdol is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Pernik municipality, Pernik region.
It is 3 km north of the town of Batanovtsi and 11 km west of the town of Pernik. The capital Sofia is 37 km northeast.
It is located in a hollow and its altitude is 701 m. The climate in the area is temperate and is characterized by mild and snowy winter and cool summer.
Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. There are water and electricity systems and internet connection. The sewerage system is under construction.
The permanent population is about 472 people.
Here are functioning town hall, community center, library, pensioner's club, fitness club, shops and restaurants. The nearest GPs and dentists are working in the town of Batanovtsi where there also is primary school and kindergarten. Specialized medical assistance you can get at the medical centers in Pernik.
Tourism and landmarks
The village is part of mountain route for cycling tour of Golo bardo mountain. You can go for a walk to Vetrushka peak (1185 m).
Just 5 km away is situated the medieval fortress Krakra.
The Giginski monastery "St. st. Kozma and Damyan" is just 10 km away and is excellent place for excursion. Another place suitable for tourism is Duhlata cave which is 22 km away.
The dams Bushlyak, Yardzhilovtsi and Meshtitsa create perfect conditions for fishing and relaxation.
