village of Beraintsi

Beraintsi is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Tran municipality, Pernik region.

It is 6 km southwest of the town of Tran and 52 km northwest of the town of Pernik. The neighboring village of Turokovtsi is 2 km north. The capital Sofia is 82 km east.

It is located in mountain region and its altitude is about 733 m. The climate is with clearly expressed four seasons - there are warm but not hot summer while the winter is severe. The spring is cool and with lots of precipitation and ends in the end of March the beginning of April and the fall is also warm.

The permanent population is about 15 people.

Store is working in the neighboring Turokovtsi while the nearest GP, dentist, hospital, kindergarten and school are functioning in the town of Tran.

Tourism and landmarks

In the different area around the village there are remains from prehistorical settlements and there are clues that is was inhabited to the ancient times. Here were found fragments with plastic decoration and typical Hallstatt epoch. In Mala Garvanitsa about 5 or 6 km southwest, and the northern slope and prehistorical settlement. On the west rock there is disc with diameter of 0.80 cm. It is connected with the Sun cult.

Interesting fact is that is in the past the people the lived in Beraintsi were occupied in the brick and tiles producing, roof renovation or dyulgerstvo. In the area of the village there is famous place where is made the stone trachyte.

Among the landmarks of the area are the beautiful gorge of Erma riverRui peakthe rock church "St Petka"the Tran monastery and the Vrabcha monastery.
