Arzan is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Breznik municipality, Pernik region.
It is 3 km north of the town of Breznik, 22 km northwest of the town of Pernik and 51 km west of the capital Sofia.
Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.
It is situated in mountain area and its altitude is 948 m. It falls within the temperate continental climate zone. The spring comes later than in the other parts of the country in the end of March and the beginning of April. The summer is not hot. The winter comes earlier.
The permanent population is about 8 people.
Arzan is a small village. It consists of three neighborhoods: Rangelova, Mindzhina and Kuzina. There are about 10-15 houses in each of them that are situated in proximity to the pine forest. In the area there are many springs and streams.
The nearest schools, kindergarten and hospital are located just a few miles away in the municipality.
Tourism and landmarks
From two of the neighborhoods there is view to Greben planina mountain which is good place for excursions. Arzan is quiet and peaceful village. This together with the fresh mountain air makes it ideal place for relaxation and tourism.
Bardoto area is famous for its "zhelyazna" mineral water which springs from the south part of the hill in Leskov dol area. The mineral spring attracts healthy and sick people from the ancient past for its healing characteristics which are due to the rich mineral chemical compounds and valuable physico-chemical and and physiological characteristics.
Near the Slakovtsi dam there is complex for relaxation and fishing that offers excellent conditions for rest and fishing. It is located just 15 km of Pernik and is with modern bungalows situated in a beautiful cherry tree garden.
