Valchedram

Vulchedram is the administrative center of the community in Montana region. 

  

It is situated 50 km north of Montana, 20 km south-east of the town of Lom, about 36 km south-west of Kozloduy, 50 km north-west of Oryahovo and about 160 km north-east of Sofia. 

  

The village is located in the Danube Valley, on the riverside of Tsibritsa
The climate is characterized by cold and snowy winters and warm summers. 

  

The population is around 4000 people. 

  

The town comprises with electricity and water supply systems, sewage is partially built. All mobile operators have coverage. There are many shops, restaurants, cafes, night club, post office, banks, municipal market and stadium. There are alsp two elementary schools, high school, kindergartens, and community center complex. There is a center for emergency medical care and the nearest hospital is located in the town of Lom. 
Regular bus service connects it with Pleven, Lom, Montana and Sofia. 

  

Tourism and landmarks:

  

Vulchedram has very good conditions for fishing. Furthermore Tsibritsa River, near are the river Danube, Dam Shishmanov shaft. 

  

At the city tourists can visit and: 

 

Church of St. Paraskeva - built in 1936. It is a small version of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia. 
There are monuments which were built in honor of Vasil Levski, Janka leader and killed during the First World War. 
Each year the "Holy Spirit" is celebrated the feast of the town.
