Jrebichko is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is located in the Municipality of Btatsigovo, District of Pazardjik.
The village stands about 7 km south-west from Bratsigovo, about 30 km south from Pazardjik, about 7 km west from Krichim and about 140 km south-east from Sofia.
Regular transport links the village with Krichim every morning and evening.
The village of Jrebichko is in a mountain area at an altitude of about 700 m.
The climate in the region is soft, with typical mountain winters and cool summers.
The population of the village is about 80 residents.
The streets are paved, there is telephone, piping system, electricity. There also are town hall, church, chapels, post office and shop. The nearest kindergarten and school are in the village of Kozarsko at about 6.5 km.
Medical services are available with a GP in the village of Kozarsko, and the nearest hospital is in the town of Krichim at about 11 km.
Attractions
Jrebicko is a very old village. It has been guarded by the well preserved even now walls of The Small and The Big Ivankovi fortesess and the castle of Koringrad. According to legends, the previous location of the village has been in the place of Bachishte, but its name is associated with the legend of a lost colt (jrebche) which after a heavy winter was found by it’s owners at the place where the village stands now.
There are tens of archeological finds with image of a Thracian rider-coins, marble sculptures, bas-reliefs and paintings.
The residents of Jrebichko renovated the 150-year-old church of Sveta Troitsa- the oldest in the municipality.
In 2000 Jrebichko was declared an architectural reserve.
There are two reservoirs at a range of about 15-20 km, suitable for fishing tourism- Krichim and Vacha reservoirs.
