Zagrazhden is a village in North Bulgaria. It is located in Gulyantsi municipality, Pleven region.
In Bulgaria there is another settlement with the same name in Banite municipality, Smolyan region.
It is 17 km northwest of the town of Gulyantsi, 42 km west of the town of Nikopol and 53 km north of the town of Pleven. The neighboring village of Dabovan is 5 km east and the capital Sofia is 202 km southwest.
It is situated on the bank of Danube river and its altitude is 23 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by hot summer and cold winter.
The permanent population is about 394 people.

The bank of Danube river is favorite place for fishing, relaxation and sun bathing.
The local cultural and archaeological heritage in the area is presented mainly by the archaeological reserve "Oescus" near Gigen village (15 km) which is declared cultural monument with national significance. It consists of remains from Roman and Byzantium cities. At this time in the village of Zagrazhden there was a fortress for surveillance which was part of the city.
