Yablanovo is a village in southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Kotel Municipality, Sliven Region.
The village is located in South Stara Planina mountain, 27 km northeast of Kotel, 31 km southeast of the town of Omurtag and 70 km northeast from the district town of Sliven. The distance to Sofia is 379 km. There is regular bus transport from Omurtag.
Altitude in Yablanovo ranges from 458 to 499 m. Near the village is the river of Kamchia.
The climate is characterized by short winters and cool summers.
Yablanovo is one of the largest villages in the region of Sliven. The population is about 3421 inhabitants. Main occupation is farming.
In Yablanovo has an elementary school, a kindergarten and a community center. The medical care is borne by two GPs.
Holidays
Since time immemorial, traditionally on May 06 in the village is celebrated Yablanovo Haderlez (Hadrellez). People wear the unique Yablanovo costumes and from dawn to target area Syuven Burnu (the highest point in the settlement). All day, sing songs, play people.
In the area of the village you can visit the following natural and historical attractions:
- Remains of early Byzantine and medieval Bulgarian fortress Kale Toss (TOC Kaya), located 4 km south of the village on the right bank of the stream Besh panar.
- Zlosten area, with several abyss caves
- The area Bagal Kaya
- Roman Calais area
