Vlahovo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan Municipality, Smolyan region.
It is located 10 km east from the town of Smolyan, about 22 km northwest from the town of Madan, approximately 29 km northwest from the town of Rudozem and 247 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
From the town of Smolyan there is a regular bus service to the village.
Located in a mountainous area at 1080 m altitude. The climate is mountainous, with a strong influence of the Mediterranean. Winter is mild and snowy, summer is cool and moist, and the autumn - long and warm.
The permanent population is about 370 inhabitants.
Here there is a town hall and shop. There is a range of mobile operators, cable TV and Internet. Nearest hospital, kindergarten and school are located in the town of Smolyan.
Vlahovo Village is famous with the cave "Potoka" in the area "Potoche".
In the town of Smolyan village guests can visit: Smolyan History Museum - the oldest and largest in the Rhodope; Planetarium Smolyan, Rhodope Drama Theater, church "St. Vissarion of Smolyan", Monument of Orpheus and Eurydice; Observatory Rozhen.
The region the following sites can also be visited: "Wonderful Bridges", area "Haidushki polyani", "Rocks of Orpheus", "Buinovo gorge and Trigrad gorge", "Yagodinska cave", "Devil's Throat Cave".
Only 27 km away is located the most popular and biggest ski resort in Bulgaria - Pamporovo. There you can find great hotels with all modern amenities and great service.
