Village of Varbina

Varbina is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Madan Municipality, Smolyan region.
It is approximately 17 km northeast from the town of Madan, 33 km southeast from the town of Smolyan, 21 km northeast from the town of Rudozem and 265 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
Located in the Eastern Rhodope Mountain at 836 m altitude. Southeast near the village flows Arda River.
The climate is continental. The winter is long but mild with heavy snows. Summer is cool.
The permanent population is 996 inhabitants. Main occupations are tourism and construction. Here well developed is the growth of tobacco, potatoes, as well as livestock.
Varbina has good infrastructure - with paved and lighted streets. There are water supply and electricity networks. Mobile operators have coverage. Regular bus service connects it to other cities.
Village has a town hall, community center, kindergarten, school, shops, restaurant and two mosques. There is a medical center with two doctors and a dentist. In Varbina operate a textile factory and a dairy farm, offering dairy products under the brand of the village - "Varbina". The nearest hospital is located in the town of Madan.
SIGHTS AND ATTRACTIONS
Available to guests and tourists is a hotel complex with restaurant, playground, outdoor pool, lobby bar, relax center, BBQ, pond, large, free parking and garden.
In the town of Smolyan guests of the village can visit : the Historical Museum, Planetarium, Rhodope Drama Theatre, "St. Vissarion of Smolen ", Monument of Orpheus and Eurydice, Observatory Rozhen.
In the town of Madan are situated the following landmarks: the first cave museum in Bulgaria "Sharenka", area "Gabata" - rock with a small cave, area "Kichikaya" - Proto-Bulgarian fortress.
In the town of Ardino / 26 km /: "Devil's Bridge" on the Arda River, Thracian sanctuary "Eagle Rocks", the Thracian fortress "Kale".
