Village of Uhlovitsa

Uhlovitsa is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan Municipality, Smolyan region.
It is 21 km northwest from the town of Rudozem, about 26 km southwest from the town of Smolyan, 40 km south from the resort Pamporovo and 266 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
Uhlovitsa village is located in a mountainous area on the upper reaches of Arda river. The altitude is 892 meters. The climate is typical of the western part of the Rhodopes mountain. Summer is cool and humid, autumn - long and warm.
The population is only 10 inhabitants.
Uhlovitsa is located next to the village Mogilitsa, there is a kindergarten and elementary school. The nearest hospital is located in the town of Smolyan.
Tourism and sightseeing
Nearby in the "Sinite virove" area is situated Uhlovitsa cave. It is one of the one hundred tourist sites. Long about 460 m, of which 330 are improved. At the end of the cave there is ice white waterfall. In the cave were found corallites.
The most famous landmark in the vicinity are Agushevi konatsi situated in the village of Mogilitsa. In 1834 in the village was built a large feudal castle (Konak) - the largest in the Balkans at the time. It was designed and implemented as a solid winter abode of Agus Agha and his sons. Construction of Agushevi Konak lasted 20 years.
