Village of Stomanevo

Stomanevo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Devin Municipality, Smolyan region.
 
Situated 33 km northeast from the town of Devin, 73 km northwest from the town of Smolyan and 194 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
There is regular bus transport to and from the village.
 
Located in the Central Rhodopes, at 948 m altitude. The mountain climate is characterized by mild winter and cool summer with many sunny days.
 
The population is about 250 people.
 
The village has a relatively good infrastructure - most streets are paved, there are electricity and water supply networks, mobile operators have coverage.
 
Here there is a town hall, community center, primary school, kindergarten, mosque trustees. There are shops and restaurants. In the neighboring village Mihalkovo / 11 km / you can find a doctor and dentist. Nearest secondary school and hospital are located in the town of Devin.
 
LANDMARKS
  
Kemerovo bridge / Selcha village - 14 km / length - 30m, width - 3 m and height - 6m. Seen from the side it is a semicircle. In medieval times the bridge was connected with the Thracian Valley Thessaloniki.
 
Yagodinska cave / 49 km /  is one of the one hundred tourist sites. With its 10,500 m lenght Yagodinska cave is the third longest cave in Bulgaria and the longest in the Rhodopes.
 
Trigrad Gorge / 50 km /  - overall length is 7 km, but the actual gorge is 2-3 km. It is the third longest in Bulgaria after Buynovsko gorge and gorge Tran.
 
Another interesting sightseeing is cave "Devil's Throat" / 51 km /. Called a "phenomenon" of the Rhodope Mountains, the cave was formed due to tectonic movements. In the past, this unique natural phenomenon has given rise to many legends.One of them said that here Orpheus descends into the underworld of Hades to rescue his beloved Eurydice.
