Staroseltsi is a village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Iskar municipality, Pleven region.

It is 11 km north of the town of Iskar and 34 km northwest of the town of Pleven. The capital Sofia is 156 km southwest.

It located in the Danubian Plain on the bank of Iskar river and its altitude is between 50 and 99 m. The climate is temperate and considerably dry. The winter is very cold. The spring is warm while the summer is hot. The fall comes in the late October.

The permanent population is about 931 people.

The village is well maintained as the central streets are asphalted and with lighting. There are constructed water and electricity systems. The mobile operators have coverage. Regular bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.

Here are functioning town hall, primary school, kindergarten, community center, stores and restaurant. One GP takes care for the health of the local people, and hospital you can find on the territory of the community center.

Tourism and landmarks

The Orthodox church "St st Kiril and Metodii" is constructed in 1861. 

In its area there is deposits of oil and gas extraction is made.

Gorni dabnik dam is 24 km south and offers excellent conditions for fishing and practicing of water sports, as well as relaxation. It is part of the protected areas in the list of NATURA 2000 program. Here are constructed holiday home and restaurant.

In the town of Pleven you can visit three of the 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria - Pleven Epopee 1877, the Regional History museum and the mausoleum-chapel "St George Pobedonosets". Other interesting places in proximity are Kaylaka parkand the Wine Museum.
