Starosel is a village in Southern Bulgaria. It is located in Hissar municipality, Plovdiv district.
 
It is 20 km west of Hisar, 49 km northwest of Plovdiv, 45 km west of Karlovo, 128 km southeast of Sofia.
 
Its population is approximately 1250 people.
 
Starosel Village is located in the central part of the Hissar municipality under the southern slopes of Sredna gora mountain. The average altitude is around 300 m. The relief area is formed by soft slopes of the Sredna gora, which gradually passes to the south in the Gornotrakiiska Valley.
The climate is continental. The winter here is mild and warm, due to the warm air masses that invade from the south and retained by the Balkan Range and the hills of Sredna gora mountain. Summer is characterized by high temperatures in July and August, low humidity and weak winds. Autumn is sunny and warm. The average annual temperature is 11.5 C.
