Startsevo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Zlatograd Municipality, Smolyan region.

Village Startsevo is situated in the central part of the Rhodopi mountain, near the Greek border, about 9 km northwest from the town of Zlatograd, 54 km southeast from the district city Smolyan and 295 km southeast from the capital city Sofia.
There is a regular bus transport.
Altitude is 631 m. The climate is characterized by moderately warm summers and relatively mild winters.

Startsevo is one of the large villages in the country - the permanent population is about 2400 inhabitants.

There are two mosques, in 1998  the church "St. Atanas" was built.  The village has town hall, community center, school, kindergarten and health service. Medical care was taken over by two general practitioner and two dentists. The nearest hospital is in Zlatograd.

The captivating beauty, diverse natural features of the Rhodopi Mountains and rich history today attract many tourists in the village.

There is reason to believe that Startsevo is the oldest settlement in the region. In the  area "Belote kamene"(white stones) are found remains of life of the Thracians.

In the area "Sveta Nedelya" in 1955 were found remains of a medieval Christian cemetery.

The attraction of the village is an ostrich farm and riding horses.

The guests of the Rhodopi Mountains will be impressed by multistory houses perched on the slopes of the mountain.

Lovers of history can visit the Ethnographic complex in Zlatograd - open-air museum showing how the city looked more than 100 years ago.
