Smolcha is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Godech municipality, Sofia region.

It is 15 km northwest of the town of Godech, 7 km north of the village of Ropot and 3 km southwest of the village of Komshtitsa.
The capital Sofia is 62 km in southeast direction. The border with Serbia is less than a kilometer away.

It is situated in mountain hollow Gorni visok that is part of the southwest part of Stara planina mountain and its altitude is about 952 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized by hot summer and cool winter. The amount of precipitation is little.

The permanent population is about 22 people.

There are constructed water and electricity systems. Only one of the mobile operators has coverage.

In the village works store. The nearest stores, restaurants, as well as schools and medical assistance you can get at the municipality the town of Godech.

People in the village celebrate the day of St Spas when there is sacrifice of an animal that is cooked and given to other people. This happens at Kulata area near the one of the Pesie hills.

With its relief the village attracts people that wish to relax in quiet and peaceful atmosphere. The area is suitable for camping. There can be collected herbs and mushrooms.

Interesting cultural landmark is the medieval church "St Troitsa" that is located in the neighboring village of Komshtitsa and is declared national monument of culture. Its icons are made by masters from Samokovska school and is with unique iconostasis. Its belfry was renewed in 2008.
