Slavovitsa is a village in North Bulgaria. It is situated in Dolna Mitropoliya municipality, Pleven region.
In Bulgaria there is one more settlement with the same name in Septemvri municipality, Pazardzhik region.
It is 19 km northwest of the town of Dolna Mitropoliya, 11 km north of the town of Trastenik and 31 km northwest of the town of Pleven. The neighboring villages of Orehovitsa and Gigen are 15 km northwest and 13 km north. The capital Sofia is 181 km southwest.
It is situated in the Danubian Plain and its altitude is about 136 m. The climate in the area is temperate and is characterized with cold winter and hot summer, the precipitation is little.
The permanent population is about 580 people.
The central streets are asphalted and there is lightning. Also are constructed water and electricity systems. Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements. The mobile operators have coverage.
Here are functioning town hall, community center, store and pub. One GP takes care for the people in the village. There is medical center in the town of Dolna Mitropoliya and the nearest school and kindergarten are in the town of Trastenik.
Tourism and landmarks
In the neighboring village of Orehovitsa is gathered museum exhibition. There could be seen remains from antique settlement, Kaleto fortress and water plumbing, as well as the natural landmarks in the areas Lagera, Oresha and Parka.
The cultural and architectural heritage is represented by the architectural reserve Oescus in the village of Gigen, that is remains of Roman and Byzantium cities.
In the town of Pleven you can visit three of the 100 Tourist Sites of Bulgaria - Pleven Epopee 1877, the Regional History museum and the mausoleum-chapel "St George Pobedonosets". Other interesting places in proximity are Kaylaka park and the Wine Museum.
