Shtipsko is a village in North-Eastern Bulgaria, part of Valchi Dol municipality, Varna region. It is located 50 km away from the city of Varna, 4 km away from the regional center of Valchi Dol and 7 km away from the town of Suvorovo.
The climate is temperate-continental, influenced by the proximity of the easternmost slopes of Stara Planina mountain - the summer is hot and the winter is cold with plenty of snowfalls. The relief is flat-hilly. Lavish greenery surrounds the village. Population - over 150 people. Altitude - 244 m. The former name of the village used to be Hasarjik.
Romans and Thracians used to inhabit the area of Shtipsko in the past. 24 votive tablets with the image of the Thracian horseman of Heros and an ancient piping and water tanks were revealed during excavation works.
In the village there is an Orthodox church, a post-office, a grocery shop, a pensioner's club, a pastry shop, a community center. The children from the village are attending the school and the kindergarten in the town of Valchi Dol. Their transportation is paid for by the municipality.
Shtipsko is supplied with water and electricity on a regular basis. There are over 70 wells in the village and several water fountains with natural spring water. The roads are in a good condition. Regular bus transportation connects the village to the city of Varna and the town of Valchi Dol. Coverage of all mobile operators is available, a s well as satellite TV.
Three British families have purchased properties in Shtipsko village.
Local people are predominantly engaged into farming and stock-breeding. The soil in the area is very fertile, which, in combination with the ecologically clean nature and the favourable climate provides excellent conditions for the production of eco vegetables and animal products. Good predispositions are available for the development of both rural and eco-tourism.
