The village of Senokos is located 15 km away from the town of Balchik and 15 km away from the regional town of Dobrich. The population numbers to 650 people. The former name of the village was Chorlu Gyol. It derives from the swampy area the village is located in. Respectively, the main occupation of the population was the pottery.
In the village of Senokos there is a primary school, an indoor volley-ball playground, a kindergarten, a community center with a library with over 10 000 volumes of both Bulgarian and foreign literature. In the village there is a doctor's office, a dentist's office, a pharmacy and a post-office, two cafes and a discoteque. A church is about to be constructed, as well. The roads are in an excellent condition. Regular public transportation is available to Dobrich, Balchik and the nearby villages.
6 English families are permanent residents of the village.
Due to its well-organized infrastructure and a favourable location, during the past few years there is a serious interest to the village from both Bulgarian and foreign citizens, willing to invest into real estate properties.
