Semerdzhievo is a village in the Central part of Northern Bulgaria. It is situated in Ruse Municipality, Ruse Region.
Regular bus transportation goes to Ruse and the neighbouring towns and villages. Just 4 km away is Yastrebovo railway station from Ruse-Varna railway line.
The village spreads out the eastern part of the Danube plain, on 174 m above the sea level. It characterizes with plain relief and humid continental climate. Cold winter and dry, hot summer.
The population is approximately 1170 people. The village is provided with electricity, water and communication equipment.
There is a town-hall, a post office, an elementary school, a community centre, doctors, a dentist, a police inspector on duty, a consumer's cooperative society and various commercial areas.
Landmarks and tourism
The community centre in the village comprises a library, a football club, a volleyball team, vocal and folklore groups, etc. The Orthodox Church 'St Dimitar' was built in 1911.
Semerdzhievo is not far away of Rusenski Lom Natural Park (19 km). The guests may visit Ivanovo rock churches, Orlova chuka cave, the medieval town of Cherven, etc. About 24 km away is the operational rock monastery 'St Dimitrii Basarbovski', which is well-preserved.
