Ribaritsa is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Etropole municipality, Sofia region.

In Bulgaria there is one other settlement with the same name in Teteven municipality, Lovech region.

It is 5 km east of the town of Etropole, 9 km west of the neighboring village of Yamna and 85 km northeast of the capital Sofia.

It is located at the foot of Stara planina mountain and its altitude is about 593 m. The climate is temperate and is characterized with cool summer and cold winter that is about 4-5 months.

The infrastructure is considerably well maintained the central streets are asphalted and with lighting, there are constructed water, electricity and phone systems. All mobile operators have coverage, also available is Internet connection. Bus transportation connects it to the municipality.

The permanent population is about 205 people.

Here are functioning town hall, store and restaurant. The nearest schools are working in the town of Etropole, where there is medical center. Specialized hospitals there are on the territory of the capital.

In proximity to the village is situated one of the most famous monasteries in the area that is part of the list of the 100 Tourist sites - Etropolski monastery "St Troitsa". It was found during the Second Bulgarian kingdom. Many times was it demolished and then rebuilt and in XVII c. became leading center of the education and literacy. Here was developed and improved the famous school of Varovits - the masters made icons. Vasil Levski Bulgarian national hero found shelter here many times when he was hiding from the Ottomans while traveling in the country. Today one of the basements is turned into small museum in his honor. The church in the monastery was constructed in the middle of the XIX c. and impresses the eye with its colorful windows.

Favorable weather conditions and natural resources are a good base for rural and eco tourism, hunting and skiing, climbing and caving.

The most remarkable natural phenomenon are travertine waterfalls - Varovitets with height 10-12 m near Etropole monastery and crow water, high 30-40 m, formed by the impetuous waters of the karst spring.

Tourists are interested in the historical museum, the church "St. Archangel Michael", the Jewish tower from the XIV century, the urban tower defense and "St. George" church. It is entirely built of river stones.

Twenty-four houses from the Renaissance attract the attention of the visitors. Beautifully situated along the Malki Iskar River, they boast rich wood-carved ceilings, doors, cupboards trays, baskets of fireplaces, columns and more.
