Planinitsa is a village in Western Bulgaria, part of Municipality of Pernik, Pernik Region.
One more village in Bulagria has the same name. It is situated in Municipality of Ruen, Burgas Region.
The town of Pernik is 18 km western direction.
The population is about 25 inhabitants. The village is inhabited mainly through the summer because it’s a holiday village and then the population is more than 100 people.
The terrain is mountainous with average altitude of 890 m.
The climate is temperately; the summer is cool and has average temperatures about 22ºС, mild and snowy winter with average temperature about 1ºС.
The infrastructure of the village is well-developed and includes electricity, water-main, telephone lines and cable TV.
There is regular bus transport that connects it with the administrative center – town of Pernik.
The village has a church and shops.
The closest medical office is about 9 km away.
Places of interest and tourism
The village is situated among a beautiful and eco-friendly area. The green hills, forests and vast fields create a feeling of peace and quietness.
About 1 km western direction from the village of Planinitsa is situated a medieval fortress with preserved parts of it.
The Pchelina dam is situated about 15 km southern direction away and offers opportunities for fishing and resting.
