Petkovo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan Municipality, Smolyan region.
In Bulgaria there is another village with the same name located in Elin Pelin Municipality, Sofia region.
Situated 36 km northeast from the town of Smolyan and southeast respectively 38 km from the town of Chepelare, 37 km from the ski-resort Pamporovo and 240 km from the city of Sofia.
Bus line connects it with neighbouring villages.
Located in the Rhodopes Mountain on the bank of Malka Arda River. The altitude is 922 meters. Climate is mountainous, with lower summer temperatures, heavy rainfall and snow cover stays relatively long.
There are about 350 people.
Petkovo has a town hall, library, school, cafeteria and several shops. There is coverage of mobile operators, Internet and cable TV. The village has a dentist. Nearest kindergarten and hospital are located in the town of Smolyan.

At about 4 km in the village Slaveino you can see: House- museum of Prof. Dr. Konstantin Chilov, Church "St. Iliya" - famous for its gilded domes, and four chapels well preserved until today.
Near the village are the historic areas Imaret Dere (Haidushki Meadows), Inoglovo, Balitsko, Bahtyaritsa.
In the town of Smolyan guests of the village can visit: Smolyan History Museum - the oldest and largest in the Rhodope Mountains, Planetarium Smolyan, Rhodope Drama Theatre, church "St. Vissarion of Smolen", Monument of Orpheus and Eurydice, Observatory Rozhen.
