Pavelsko is a village in southern Bulgaria, part of the Municipality Chepelare, District Smolyan.

It is 48 km north direction of Smolyan, 21 km north direction from Chepelare, 33 km southwest direction of the town of Asenovgrad and 52 km from Plovdiv.

The population numbers about 600 inhabitants.

The terrain is mountainous with average altitude about 700 m.

The climate in the region is temperate, characterized by hot summers, cold winters and small amounts of rainfall. The average annual summer temperature is 23ºC and in winter -1ºC.

The village well-developed and has excellent infrastructure, including electrification, water-main and sewerage system, telephone, internet and cable TV.

Regular bus transport to the cities - Asenovgrad, Chepelare, Smolyan and Plovdiv.

There is a town-hall, commercial office, post office, primary school, kindergarten, center for temporary accommodation of children, belfry, church, park and playground.

Health service serves the population of the village. There is a network of shops and cafes.

In the village a factory for the manufacture of luggage operates and also has an institute for elite seed of potato.

 

Places of interest and tourism

The beautiful nature and good infrastructure attracts people from the nearby cities to construct their villas here.

In the village several houses that work as hotels and huts for visitors.

In the land of the village there are remains of ancient furnaces for iron, bathroom, monuments and more.

Close are the towns of Chepelare and Pamporovo. With perfect conditions for winter sports and because of its beautiful scenery attract tourists during the summer months as well.
