Ostrov is a village in the municipality of Oryahovo, Vratsa District.
It is situated 19 km southeast of Oryahovo, 92 km northeast of Vratsa and about 190 km in the same direction from the capital Sofia.
It is located in the Danube valley, on the banks of the Danube. The altitude is 181 meters. The climate is characterized by warm summers and cold winters.
The population is about 1,580 people. There is regular bus transport to Oryahovo.
The village has a town hall, primary school, kindergarten and shops. Medical care is covered by a doctor and a dentist. Hospital operates within the municipal center.
In Oryahovo can visit the historical museum, the medieval fortress "Stones" Park of the Bulgarian-Romanian friendship and Hunting Park home.

In the village of Krushovene / 27 km / is the protected area is Genchov Orman, who is singer in 1962 and an ancient oak forest to the old bed of the Iskar River. It occupies an area of 27.3 hectares with an average age of trees 170 years and the biggest tree - "The Queen" / oak - Querqus ceris / a circumference 6.50 m, height of 23 meters and over five centuries. Venerable oaks are found single specimens of field elm, white poplar.
