Village of Orizari

Orizari is a village in southeast Bulgaria, in Tvarditsa Municipality, Sliven region.

It is 38 km west from the city of Sliven and about 8 km southeast from the town of Tvarditsa.

The population is about 680 inhabitants.

The terrain is plain to hilly with an average altitude of about 300 m.

Climate in the region is transitional continental, characterized by mild winter with average temperatures around -2 º C and hot dry summer with average temperatures around 28 º C.

Orizari has well-developed infrastructure, which includes partially paved streets and lighting, complete electrification, water supply system, partial sewerage, telephone, internet and cable TV.

International road E871 passes at about 1 km away from the village, also at about 1 km away from Orizari passes railway line Plovdiv-Burgas.
There is regular bus transport to and from Tvarditza.

There are town hall, primary school, kindergarten, community center with an installed and working library and a church in the village.

It is expected that construction of a football field, a small gym and internet room will began.

Several general practitioners take care of the population of the village. There is a network of shops and restaurants.

Much of the population engages in agriculture and farming. Two agricultural cooperatives, "Orizari 94" and "Christine" handle the lands of the village Orizari.

Tourist and cultural attractions

Dam "Orizari" is located about 3 km away and besides that it irrigates the fertile lands of the village is also used for fishing.

About 20 km southwest is located dam "Zhrebchevo", which is  situated at river Tundzha and is the third largest in Bulgaria. On its territory there are hotels, restaurants and vast meadows and forests suitable for tents.

Through the village pass two rivers - Blyagornitsa and Orizarska, which offer good conditions for recreation and walks in nature.
