Oreshets is a village in Southern Bulgaria, part of Asenovgrad Municipality, Plovdiv Region.
It is about 40 km southeastern direction from the town of Polvidv and about 23 km from the town of Asenovgrad. There is a beautiful mountain view southeastern direction to the Draganski kamak top.
The population is about 70 inhabitants.
The terrain is mountainous and has average altitude of 880 m.
Winters are mild and snowy with temperatures about 1ºС and in summers it is cool with temperatures about 20ºС.
The infrastructure of the village is well-developed and includes electricity, water-main, partly sewerage installation and telecommunications.
This village awakens the curiosity of many people that have found themselves there accidentally. Many of them buy houses for holidays or year-round use. A lot just renovated their houses.
A great advantage of this area is that it hasn‘t been touched by people. The unique nature helps the eco-tourism to develop as well as other types of tourism.
The closeness of the dams – Sushitsa, Lenovo and Mechka make it an attractive location because they are appropriate for fishing, boating, etc.
Close to the village is the Tsarichin top and Peshturi, which has several caves. On one of them - "Maikat" has its beginning the Golyama Sushitsa River where the dam Sushitsa is built.
About 10 km from the village towards the village of Dobrostan is the hut Martsiganitsa, in closeness to the caves with various rock formations inside.
