Omarchevo is a village in southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Nova Zagora Municipality, Sliven region.
In Bulgaria there is another village with the same name in Kaolinovo Municipality, Shumen region.
It is 14 km southeast from the town of Nova Zagora, about 14 km southwest from the town of Kermen, about 37 km southwest from the town of Sliven and 281 km southeast from the city of Sofia.
The village has regular bus service to the town of Nova Zagora.
Located at 200 m altitude. The permanent population is about 420 people.
The climate is temperate-continental. Winter is short and summer is cool.
The village has a town hall, church "St. Ilia" kindergarten, primary school, community center and shop. There is cable TV, internet and mobile phone coverage. A doctor and a dentist take care for the health of the villagers. The nearest hospital and schools are located in the town of Nova Zagora.
Surroundings and sights
Karanovo mound is located in the northwestern part of Karanovo village situated 23 km from Omarchevo. It is one of the most significant historical sites in the Balkans and Europe.
About 17 km from the village, near the village Dyadovo is situated one of the biggest in Bulgaria and Europe mound. Is 18 meters high. This is mainly prehistoric times - Stone, Copper and Bronze Age.
In the region there are several dams - Dam Bikovo, dams Pitovo1 and Pitovo2 that offer rich pickings for avid anglers and pleasant atmosphere for relaxation.
