Novo Selo is a village located in north-western Bulgaria. It is an administrative centre of the municipality of Novo Selo, Vidin District.

The village lies on the bank of the river Danube at an altitude of 50 m. It is about 24 km northwest of the town of Vidin, about 17 km east of the city of Bregovo and approximately 220 km north of Sofia city.

The terrain is hilly and the climate is temperate continental.

Forests are an insignificant part of the territory, mainly acacia. They are located around the Danube and picturesque places.

The soil and the climate of the area are favorable for wine-production and rural tourism.

The population of the village is about 1023 people.

There are a high school, a kindergarten, two GPs and a dentist in Novo selo.

The majority of the streets are paved.

The municipal administration building, a library, a post office, a  youth center, a clock tower, a school, shops and cafes are situated in the center of the village. The central square, called by Novoselyane "magdan" is basically a place for gathering of locals on holidays, events and celebrations.
 
LANDMARKS AND TOURISM:

The church "Sveti Nikola" is a cultural monument of local importance. It has been built around 1825 with a clock tower, which presents on the crest of the village.

The church "Uspenie Bogorodichno" is quite large, with four domes, а bell tower, remarkable iconostasis from 1893. It is painted by Ivan Dospevski, son of Dimitar Zograf.

The community centre "Zamedeletz-1874" is also a cultural monument of local importance. There are two plaques bearing the names of all villagers died in the wars.

In Vidin attractive for tourists are: the Baba Vida fortress, dating from the 10th century and related to the defense of the city during the Middle Ages, the Kaleto fortress, the Cruciform barracks with ethnographic exhibition, the Turkish Konak Koluka, the Mosque and the library of Osman Pazvantaglu, the cathedral Sveti Dimitar, the Mausoleum of the first Bulgarian Exarch Antim I and others.
