Nova Varbovka

New Varbovka is a village in Northern Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality of Strazhitsa, District Veliko Turnovo. 

  

The village is situated 35 km north-east of Veliko Tarnovo, 11 km north of Strazhitsa, 30 km north-east of Gorna Oryahovitsa and 53 km north-west of Targovishte

  

The population numbers about 300 people. 

  

The terrain is hilly area. The altitude is about 330 meters. 

  

The climate is temperate - continental, characterized by hot summers and cool, and early coming spring. Winter period benefits with minimal rainfall and snow, which did not last long. Climatic conditions are suitable for growing most widespread in Bulgaria crops.

  

There are three dams in the land of New Varbovka and a fountain in the center with spa. 

    

Infrastructure 

  

The village has good infrastructure, its own water supply and telecommunication network, all mobile operators have coverage. 

  

There are a kindergarten and community center. The nearby medical office is located in the neighboring village of Kamen, located just 2 km away. 
Near New Varbovka crosses the main road that leads to Ruse. 

  

A few years ago against the village was built an orchard. On the east side of the village it bordered by thousands of hectares of arable land, while the west is located vineyards. 

    

Tourism 

  

Due to the interesting situation of the houses on the hills, the village has the potential to become a recreation area. There is an investment opportunity in tourism and ecological farming. 

  

The presence of reservoirs in the region predisposes the development of fishing tourism. 

  

Near the village there is a hill where they buried the Russian soldiers who died during the Liberation War. 
Each year on 28 October New Varbovka celebrates its council.
