Muhovo is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Ihtiman municipality, Sofia region.
It is located in mountain region at the foot of Sredna gora mountain, on the shore of Topolnitsa dam and near the flow of Topolnitsa river, its altitude is about 483 m. The climate is transcontinental. In the winter there is little snow precipitation but it is mild and the summer is sunny and cool. In the area there are fruit trees, potatoes, corn, raspberries and in the village there are grown different south species as pomegranate, fig, medlar, etc.
It is well maintained village with asphalted main streets and lighting. There are constructed electricity and water systems. All mobile operators have coverage. Bus transportation connects it to the other settlements.
The permanent population is about 126 people.
Here are functioning town hall, community center, store and restaurant. Medical assistance you can get in the municipality where there are working the nearest schools.
In 2008 was consecrated the newly constructed church "St George".
In the center of the village is built monument of the fallen during the wars.
The conditions for fishing here are excellent. The dam is rich in fish - roach, perch, bream, bleak, dace, slanchevka, carp and silver carp.
The village itself is very suitable for village tourism. The excursions and the walks in the mountain are very healthy and nice. In the area of Muhovo are collected mushrooms, herbs, wild strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, hips etc.
There is a legend that under the rock in the area Orlov kamak is hidden a treasury.
