Miikovtsi is a village in North Bulgaria, part of Elena municipality, Veliko Tarnovo region.

It is about 50 km southeast of the town of Veliko Tarnovo and 13 km southeast of the town of Elena.

The relief is low mountain and its altitude is about 649 m. The summer is sunny and cool, while the winter is mild and snowy.

The infrastructure of the village is with asphalted roads with lighting, electricity system, water installation, Internet and phone. There is regular bus transportation from and to the town of Elena.

The people that live there permanently are about 50.

Here work town hall, post office and church. Also there are stores, coffee shops and restaurants. GP takes care for the people in Miikovtsi.

Tourism and landmarks

The area around the village is very suitable for tourism. In the center of the village there is a map for orientation.

In proximity there is well maintained eco trail that leads to Toplata reka. Just 800 m from the village is constructed ski slope with length about 500 m that is with ski train. In the vicinity of Miikovtsi are many huts and keep their scenic hiking trails that are well marked. There are opportunities for horse riding, fishing and ethnographic tourism.

In proximity is located the oldest Bulgarian reserve "Byala krava" and in its area there are bears, wolves, wild hogs, deers, jackals etc.

Around the village there are 5 developed eco routes. In the village there are different kinds of Tourist services and equipment. There can be hired qualified mountain guides, instructors for rope trolley, Alpine techniques etc.

For the people that enjoy the less extreme in the village and surrounding area organized picnics and barbecue-tasting typical Elena Balkan cuisine.
