Mirovo is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Ihtiman municipality, Sofia region.

In Bulgaria there are two other settlements that are with the same name in Strajitsa municipality, Veliko Tarnovo region and in Bratya Daskalovi municipality, Stara Zagora region.

It is 8 km southeast of the town of Ihtiman and 7 km north of the town of Momin prohod. The capital Sofia is 61 km northwest.

The village is located in mountain region and its altitude is about 662 m. The climate is temperate as the coldest months are January and February and the hottest are July and August. In the spring and the fall there are abrupt temperature changes.

The permanent population is about 208 people.

Bus and railway transportation connect it to the other settlements.

Mirovo is considerably well maintained village - the main streets are asphalted and with lighting, all mobile operators have coverage. There are constructed water and electricity systems.

Medical assistance you can get in the municipality where there are also working and the nearest school, kindergarten and stores. The administrative care is taken by the town hall.

 

Tourism and landmarks

Just 6 km from the village in the direction to Plovdiv is the roundabout to the historical area near the fortress Trayanovi vrata, Eledzhik peak (1186 m) and one of the main rebellion headquarters during the April rebellion from 1876 and another landmark is St Spas monastery.

From the town hall of Mirovo starts eco trail to Shindar area. The trail is marked and here there is amazing nature, very peaceful and nice place with fresh air.

Here is constructed Orthodox temple "Rozhdestvo Bogorodichno". The holiday of the village is celebrated on Small Bogoroditsa.
