Village of Marikostinovo is located in South-West region of Bulgaria, part of Petrich MunicipalityBlagoevgrad District

Located in Petrich - Sandanski valley on the left bank of the Struma River. Situated 11 km east of the municipal center Petrich. West to the village passes the European road E79.
The climate is transitional - continental with pronounced Mediterranean influence. It is characterized by brief and mild winters, dry and hot summer. The coldest is January, when average monthly temperatures vary about 1 - 2 degrees. Snow is no more than 12-15 days in the year. Characteristic of the region is early warming in spring and in the second half of February the air temperature is kept permanently over 5 gegrees. The warmest months are June, July and August.
Population is approximately 1400 inhabitants.
Culture and education:  in the village there is one primary school - Primary School St. Cyril and Methodius, a kindergarten and two community centers - Vazrazhdane and Prosveta .
On the territory of the village Marikostinovo is built Specialized Hospital for Rehabilitation, which is held physical prevention, complex treatment and rehabilitation. There are indoor swimming pools, bubble baths, spa and Mud.

Tourism

Marikostinovo is famous spa center. In the area of the village, northwest of it, there are healing mineral hot springs. Along the springs are formed mud baths in the treated discopathy and other bone diseases. Water springs at about 50 ° C.
For lovers of historical values that region and offers precious landmarks, among which stand the fortresses of Samuil near the village of  Kluch, west of the town of Petrich.
