Malko selo is a village in southeastern Bulgaria. It is located in Kotel Municipality, Sliven region.

It is located 20 km northeast from the town of Kotel, about 30 km southeast from the town Omurtag, about 71 km northeast from the town of Sliven and 376 km in the same direction from the capital Sofia.
There is a regular bus service.

It is situated in a mountainous area in the valley of the river Ticha 400 m altitude. The climate is temperate continental with Mediterranean influence. Characterized by short winters and cool summers.

The village is one of the largest in the area with a population of 620 people. Here are grown tobacco, fruit trees. Developed is breeding.

Malko selo is with a good infrastructure, has a town hall, a primary school, community center, shops and cafes. There is Internet, cable TV and mobile phone coverage. In the neighboring village Filaretovo / 2 km west / you will find kindergarten and there you can get medical advice from a GP.
The nearest hospital is located in the town of Kotel.

Attractions in the area

Protected karst area Zlosten - eleven caves, the most famous of which are: "Glacier" - recognized as a national entity, with a length of 1,111 meters and a depth of 242 meters, the cave of "Rakovsky" where in 1854 Rakovski began to write his book "Forest passenger", "Subatta", "40 beds."
On the way to the caves are located Urushka rocks - magnificent natural fortress about 4 km from the Kotel over the road to the town of Omurtag.
In the town of Kotel, declared an architectural and historical reserve, tourists can enjoy the rich history and Renaissance architecture.
There you can also visit the Pantheon of George Rakovski, Museum of Renaissance, Natural History Museum and the Historical Museum, which is part of the Hundred national tourist sites.
Villages Zheravna and Medven are located respectively 46 km south and 44 km south-east - architectural reserves, preserving the look of the wooden houses built during Renaissance.
