Malevo is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Chepelare Municipality, Smolyan region.

In Bulgaria there is another village with the same name in Haskovo Municipality, Haskovo region.

It is 23 km northwest from the town of Chepelare, nearly 51 km in the same direction from the town of Smolyan, about 35 km southwest from the town of Asenovgrad and 202 km southeast from the city of Sofia.

Located at the foot of the Rhodopes, at 785 m altitude. Climate is temperate, characterized by hot summer, cold winter and small amounts of rainfall.

The permanent population is about 170 people. Regular bus service connects it with Chepelare and Smolyan.

Malevo has a town hall, library, shop and restaurant. There are Internet and cable television coverage of mobile operators. On the territory of the village you can find a GP. In the town of Chepelare there is a kindergarten, school and medical center. The nearest hospital is located in Asenovgrad.

Only 26 km northeast is situated Bachkovo monastery. One of the oldest monasteries in the Balkan Peninsula. In it are preserved unique architectural and artistic monuments.

In the town of Chepelare operate the only one in Europe, Museum of Speleology, representing the beauty of caves and cave exhibits retained from the dawn of human history.

Museum of skis and ski sport with a large collection is located in the largest municipal library - "Rhodope spark". It keeps cups, medals, skiing and other sports accessories of the Chepelare ski racers from the establishment of a sports association "Rozhen", which is 100-year old.

In winter visitors can ski in Chepelare and Pamporovo / 36 km / - one of the best ski-resorts in the country.
