Village of Lyubcha

Lyubcha is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Dospat Municipality, Smolyan region.

It is 10 km southwest from the town of Dospat, 83 km northwest from the town of Smolyan, about 50 km southwest from the town of Devin and 207 km southeast from the city of Sofia.

Located in the Rhodope Mountains, at 1170 meters altitude. Winter is mild, spring comes late, the autumn is warm and summer is cool.

The permanent population is about 950 people. Residents are occupied primarily with agriculture.

The village has a good infrastructure - most streets are paved, electricity and water supply, all mobile operators have coverage, regular bus service linking it with surrounding towns.

Here there is a town hall, community center, kindergarten, primary school, mosque trustees, restaurants and shops. The village has a health center with two doctors and a dentist. The nearest secondary school and hospital are located in the town of Dospat.

LANDMARKS

Dam Dospat is located approximately 11 km. The dam is rich in fish and gives great opportunities for sport and recreational fishing.

41 km northeast from the village is situated the impressive Trigrad Gorge. Its natural attractions have been declared protected area. In the area"Chairite" there are six sloping lakes and rocks, in the Trigrad Gorge are seen over 10 species of rare birds.

Cave "Devil's Throat" / 43 km / resembles head of a devil. Here the water descends in a cave and forms a 42-meter waterfall. After about 500 meters down the river, the water reappears in the form of a karst spring. And the cave is open for visits.

Yagodinska cave / 39 km / is one of the one hundred tourist sites. With its 10,500 meters lenght it is the third longest cave in Bulgaria and the longest in the Rhodopes.
