Lyaskovo is a village in Southern Bulgaria., located in Municipality Asenovgrad, District Plovdiv.
Villages with the same name can be found in Municipality Aytos, District Burgas; Municipality Dobrich, District Dobrich; Municipality Chernoochene, District Kardjali; Municipality Devin, District Smolyan and Municipality Stara Zagora District Stara Zagora.
Location
Lyaskovo stands about 11 km south-west of Asenovgrad, about 25 km south of Plovdiv and about 170 km south-east of the capital of Sofia.
A bus line Asenovgrad-Yavorovo passes through the village twice a day.
Lyaskovo is in the north slopes of the Rodopi Mountains, with average altitude of 800 m.
The climate in Lyaskovo is mountainous, with cold winters and cool summers.
The village population is about 38 residents.
The streets are asphalted, paved and lighted. There is full electrification and water supply system, shop, restaurant, church, community center and a pub with a history of over 100 years. The closest schools and hospital are in the town of Asenovgrad.
Attractions
Bachkovo Monastery is about 17 km away, and Asen’s Fortress is only about 6 km away from the village. In the viцinity there are a number of places for relaxation and walks among the nature.
Lately, there is serious interest by tourists in the village, and there is a boom in the real estate sales. Houses are being restored; hotels and guest houses are being built.
The reservoirs of Cherven and Chetiriysette izvora are about 11 km away from Lyaskovo. They are both suitable for fishing.
