Lopyan is a village in Western Bulgaria. It is located in the municipality Etropole, Sofia district.
Situated 15 km southeast of Etropole, 92 km in the same direction from Sofia, 38 km east of Botevgrad.
The population is about 430 people.
Lopyan Village is located on the northern slopes of Central Stara Planina mountain- the terrain is mountainous, with an average altitude of 500 m.
Here goes Stara Reka River.
The village falls within the zone of temperate climate. The temperature of the coldest month - January is averaging 1,4 º C, the warmest month - July is the average of 21,6 º C.
The village is electrified, with maintained infrastructure. There are electricity, water supply and communication networks. Missing sewerage network.

Chertigrad - remains of the famous Thracian fortress - located on the hill between the villages Lopyan, Bruce, Cherni Vit and Yamna. Can be reached by bus and then walk Yamna.

Etropole monastery St. Trinity (Varovitets) is 5 km east on the road to the village and resort Ribaritsa Yamna. Built around 1158 during the Ottoman rule is one of the most important literary centers in the Bulgarian lands north of the mountain. Interesting is the silver ark. Can be reached by bus Yamna.
