Lokorsko is a village set in Western Bulgaria. It is part of Sofia Municipality, Sofia district.
Village of Lokorsko is situated at the foot of the Balkans, at about 15 km away from Sofia city. The place is beautiful and comprises pine-tree and broad-leaved forests next to the last houses in the settlement. Three small rivers pass through the village. In summer they are almost dry. Two hours ahead is one of the highest mountain tops in Sofia Mountain - Dragunat /1110 m/. The forest meadows are covered with flowers and mushrooms, which attract many tourists at weekends.
In the 60s and 70s of the last century, the village was well-developed. All streets are asphalted and the new centre of the village is shaped. In its surroundings is the biggest cow complex.
The school building is one of the most representative in the villages in Sofia district. Its impressive facade in white colour could be seen from the whole Sofia field. The school is the symbol of Lokorsko. It comprised rich library and developed active community centre activities. Later the lack of students turned the school into a boarding-school. At present the building is in process of renovation. It is going to be a company office.
St Nicolay Church was built in XVII century. It is painted with interesting frescos and is announced as monument of culture. It is in process of restoration.
