Leshtak is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Madan Municipality, Smolyan region.

It is located 10 km north from the town of Madan, about 27 km southeast from the town of Smolyan, in the same direction about 40 km from the resort Pamporovo and 268 km from the capital Sofia.
The village is connected by regular bus service to the town of Madan.

Leshtak is situated in a mountainous area on the banks of the Arda River, about 645 meters above sea level. The climate is continental. Winters are mild and long, cool summer.

The permanent population is about 290 people.

The village has a community center, mosque trustees, a shop and a cafe. There is cable TV, internet and mobile phone coverage. The nearest kindergarten and primary school in the village Srednogortsi / 5 km southwest /, you will find a doctor and a dentist there.
The nearest hospital is located in the town of Madan.

Tourism and landmarks

12 km southwest near the village Maglishta an interesting landmark is located - cave in the area Dupkata. The entrance is 2 meters high and 3 meters wide. Creek flows entering the cave. The main gallery is downward and is large marble cracks. At about 40 meters from the entrance to the gallery collapsed three meters well above that opens upward side gallery, which leads to a small mud room.

In the town of Madan, you can visit the following landmarks:

  • Cave museum - "Sharenka".  This is the first in Bulgaria Cave Museum.
  • Area Gabata - a small rock cave in which they found pottery pieces from different eras. Following the path on the cliff to reach the Thracian mines, which were found primitive tools for the extraction of ore and clay lamps.
  • Nearby is the rock 'Rimpapa" 50 meters high, resembling a man with a cape. Behind it there are remains of an ancient village, where they found traces of clay pipe.
  • The area Kichikaya represents a fortress later conquered by the Romans. There are old stone buildings and walls of the fortress wall. Fully preserved, and the well is carved nine meters down the cliff.
