Village of Leshnitsa

Leshnitsa is a village in the municipality of Lovech, Lovech region.
In Bulgaria there is another village which has the same name - in the municipality of Sandanski, Blagoevgrad region.
It is situated 15 km south of Lovech, 20 km north of Troyan and about 150 km northeast of Sofia.
It is situated in the Balkan Mountains, at an altitude of about 450 m. The climate is characterized by warm summers and cold winters.
The population is about 160 people. There are regular rail and bus service to neighboring towns.
The village is fully electrified and supplied with water. Almost all the streets are paved, there are street lights. Here operate a community center, club pensioner, shops and pubs, as well as several guest houses. Medical care is covered by a GP. Nearest kindergartens, schools and hospitals in the city of Lovech.
Landmarks:
- "St. Ivan Rilski "Leshnitsa was built in 1904 and is an architectural monument;
- In the village of Dalbok dol / 10 km / built ethnographic complex that includes three houses, waterfall and BBQ. It serves traditional Bulgarian dishes. There is a track for ATV machines, which held races with big cars;
- In the village Borima / 16 km / can visit the church "St. Paraskeva" mosque and school, which was founded in 1884. About 5 km from the village dam "Sopot", which offers excellent conditions for fishing;
- At about 20 km is the Troyan monastery - the third largest and one of the most visited monasteries in Bulgaria.
