Kremene is a village in southern Bulgaria. It is located in Smolyan  Municipality, Smolyan region.

It is about 33 km southwest from the town of Smolyan, 44 km northwest from the town Rudozem, about 50 km southwest from the resort Pamporovo and 280 km southeast from the city of Sofia.

Kremene Village is located in the Rhodopes at 1237 meters altitude. The climate is characterized by cool, humid summers and long and warm autumn.

The population is only 20 inhabitants.

The village has electricity and water. There is a church "Holy Ghost". In the neighboring village of Mogilitsa / 8 km south / you will find kindergarten and elementary school. In Smilyan village / 15 km / there is a General Practitioner. The nearest hospital is located in the town of Smolyan.

Tourism and landmarks

Agushevi konatsi / architectural and artistic monument of national importance / located in the village of Mogilitsa. In 1834 in the village was built a large feudal castle (town hall) - the largest in the Balkans at the time. It is designed and implemented as a solid winter abode of Agus Agha and his sons. Construction of Agushevi Konak lasted 20 years.

In the area of ​​Mogilitsa there are 20 caves, the most interesting of these is Uhlovitsa. It is located in the area Sinite virove -3 km east of the village on the left bank of the river Arda.

In the village of Bukata about 9 km southeast lies the architectural ensemble "Hadzhiyski kashti" - Summer feudal castle / town hall / - restored and converted into a hotel and restaurant. There if the tourists are willing can knead bread themselves and to test their skills in the processing of wool.
