Kozanovo

Kozanovo is a village in Southern Bulgaria, located in Municipality of Asenovgrad, Plovdiv Region.

The village is disposed about 8 km east from Asenovgrad, about 30 km away from Plovdiv and about 175 km away from the capital of Sofia.

Regular transport connects Kozanovo with Asenovgrad.

To the north lies the Thracian lowland, to the South there are large oak forests, the relief is plane and the average altitude is 200 m.

The infrastructure is settled with partly asphalted roads, with sewerage system built and telephone lines connected.

The population of Kozanovo is about 750 residents, most of which young families.

There is a kindergarten, community center, health service center. Post office and shop.There is no school, the closest one is in Asenovgrad and there is free transport organized for the schoolchildren. The closest hospital is in Asenovgrad as well.

Attractions:

There is a church built more than 120 years ago and four chapels.
Close to the village there are several monasteries - Arapovski Monastry Sveta Nedelya about 2 km away, Svеta Petka Monastry about 9 km away, Sveti Kirik Monastry about 9 km away, as well as three reservoirs. The largest of them is 40 Izvora reservoir/ the 40 springs/, often used as rowing base for the canoe-kayak teams from Plovdiv and the region.
