Kovachevtsi is a village in Western Bulgaria, It is situated in Samokov municipality, Sofia district.

In Bulgaria there is one more village with the name "Kovachevtsi" - in Pernik municipality.

It is about 39 km south from Sofia, about 25 km northwest from Samokov and about 35 km northwest from the ski resort Borovets.

The village of Kovachevtsi is situated in a mountain region - between the mountains Vitosha, Plana and Rila. The altitude is about 950m.
The climate here is described with severe winter, that lasts from November to the beginning of April. The spring is pretty cool, short and often variable; the summer is very short and cool. The autumn also is short - usually rainy and misty.

The population is about 480 inhabitants.

The village has good infrastructure - has General Practitioner, community centre, grocery and shop, church. Regular bus transportation connects is with the neighbouring towns and villages in the area.

In the land of the village is situated the area Yarema, stat has status of villa zone.

Tourism and sightseeing

At 4 km away from the village in the foot of Verila you can enjoy a beautiful dam lake, that offers excellent conditions for fishing and hunting.

Church "Sveti Ilia", that is situated in the village has beautiful wall - paintings, in the monastery forest, situated in the are "Palakariya" is situated the chapel "Sveti Georgi Pobedonosets".

In the region there are beautiful pine and deciduous forests, appropriate for walk and picnick.

Each year in Kovatchevtsi in the last Sunday of the August is held council.
