Komarevo is a village in West Bulgaria. It is situated in Dolna Mitropoliya municipality, Pleven region.
It is 18 km northeast of the town of Dolna Mitropoliya, 7 km southwest of the town of Gulyantsi and 27 km north of the town of Pleven. The village of Kreta is 5 km northeast and 8 km south is the village of Podem. The capital Sofia is 178 km southwest.
It is located in plain area on the left shore of Vit river and its altitude is 36 m. The climate is temperate with cold winter and hot summer. The amount of precipitation is little and in mostly in May and June. Hails are common phenomenon.
Komarevo is well maintained village with asphalted streets and lightning. There are constructed water and electricity systems. Mobile operators have coverage. Bus and railway transportation connect it to the other settlements.
The permanent population is about 1225 people.
Here are functioning town hall, community center, primary school, kindergarten, pensioner's club, stores and coffee shop. Two GPs and one dentist take care for the people in the village. Medical center and hospital you can find in the near towns of Gulyantsi and Dolna Mitropoliya where also work high schools.
Vit river provides good conditions for relaxation, fishing and walks in the nature.
The local cultural and archaeological heritage in the area is presented mainly by the archaeological reserve "Oescus" near Gigen village (22 km) which is declared cultural monument with national significance. It consists of remains from Roman and Byzantium cities.
